We buy our cars at auction and walk every one through the same 25 points before it is listed. Along the way we see the things a quick look can miss, and we write down what we find, good and bad.
These guides are that same standard, written so you can use it on any car, from a dealership or a private seller. Each one takes a few minutes and ends with a short summary.

Las Vegas and Clark County
To register a gas car in urban Clark County, it needs a passing emissions test (1968 and newer). A Nevada dealer has to give you a valid passing test with the car it sells. In a private sale, getting the test is up to you. The Nevada DMV’s Emission Control Program has the details.
The title, in the seller’s name, signed over to you. The Nevada DMV says a bill of sale by itself is not proof of ownership, and any loan on the car has to be paid off before the title can move. See the DMV’s Vehicle Title and Ownership page.

It can be. Heat is tough on batteries, tires, rubber parts and the A/C, so check those closely on any car that has lived here.
